01 · The story
Every harvest, a mother pays the sunflower field's rope-and-straw godmother something small to keep her little girl safe, until the season comes when there is nothing small left to give.

02 · Original concept direction
The early visual intentions behind this world. The finished film may take the story somewhere different.
Anamorphic 35mm at blood-red sunset: petals and dust in the air, a crow-skull head swaying gently, and a small hand trusting a rope hand. The Harvest Godmother keeps the crop alive and the children safe, and every autumn she asks for one small thing in return, slightly larger than the year before. The girl's mother finally asks what the price will be when there is nothing small left to give.
In an Andalusian sunflower field, a girl in her first communion dress befriends the tall figure woven of dried sunflowers and burlap that lives among the flowers. The village calls it a scarecrow. She calls it her godmother.
