01 · The story
A council clerk grows two talking faces on his knees, and they refuse to bend until policies are approved.

02 · Original concept direction
The early visual intentions behind this world. The finished film may take the story somewhere different.
Knee-height 28mm documentary photography, mint strip lights, nicotine-yellow walls and pushed grain. The impossible anatomy is comic practical prosthetics, intact and awkward rather than bloody. The knees disagree about everything, turning a routine disability-access complaint into a three-person strike inside one pair of trousers. The clerk first tries to chair them, then listens to the people his tidy signatures kept waiting. In the final hearing he authorises a ramp, loses his promotion, and stands comfortably for the first time. The building immediately grows knees of its own and walks away from the councillors, leaving them arguing in a car park.
A council clerk grows two talking faces on his knees, and they refuse to bend until every petty decision he has ever rubber-stamped is reconsidered. His promotion interview is upstairs.
