01 · The story
Emil, Extra 214, has spent a lifetime in the background of a rain-soaked studio city that starts over with every take. When his card comes back stamped CUT, he steps off his mark and into the empty soundstage, where a single bulb, a camera and a director's chair are waiting for him.

02 · Original concept direction
The early visual intentions behind this world. The finished film may take the story somewhere different.
High oblique 28mm views, arc-lit rain, pushed silver-grain monochrome, plywood streets opening onto absolute darkness. Every attempt at a leading role makes someone else disappear; attention is a finite resource in a production with no visible director. The woman is a continuity clerk hiding people the script has cut. He finally reaches the camera and finds an empty chair, not a god. Rather than sit in it, he turns the lens toward the discarded crowd. The final shot holds until every face has had time to be seen, and the painted city begins to weather into real brick.
A background actor notices the city resets whenever he leaves the frame. When a woman remembers his name, he abandons his mark and finds the unfinished world behind the scenery.
