Blob Down Under

01 · The story

Inside this world.

A pink blob in mirrored sunglasses turns up on a red dirt highway in the outback, a cold can in hand. A road-worn local offers him a lift, and a small town pub has to decide what to make of its newest regular.

Before the cut.

The early visual intentions behind this world. The finished film may take the story somewhere different.

65mm deep focus under a merciless midday sun: red dust, dead satellite dishes, a rusted autonomous road-train honking at a man who is now technically a liquid. Blob Down Under follows his epic three-day ooze toward the nearest pub, narrated by his unbothered mate who keeps the beer cold on top of him. Saturated ochre and cyan, played as a heroic survival epic.

The first premise

The Australian outback, 2091. A faulty teleportation app rematerializes a sunburnt bloke as a sagging, wobbling blob on the highway shoulder. His sunglasses and beer can landed perfectly. He considers this a win.
