The image system is humid, fluorescent, and morally claustrophobic — steam, nicotine, tile click, and VHS decay. Table geography, neon spill, and camera positions play the whole film as a criminal memory trapped inside one room and rewinding itself forever.
The first premise
A mahjong den owner realizes every security tape from one late-eighties spring contains the same unsolved murder occurring a few tables away from him.
